Have fun making your own fabric covered box and make unique handmade gifts with cartonnage. The fabric boxes, cases and much more are made out of paperboard, fabric and glue with this lovely craft!! And your pieces will be sturdy as wood, but made with your favorite fabric!
This box is perfect to add to the Mini sewing machine (as seen in the pictures). DIY kits are sold separately. This DIY cartonnage Kit comes with all cardboard you need to make your own fabric drop front box, as shown in the pictures. The pieces of paper (chipboard and poster board) are precut in the right sizes you need for this project. The finished box will be 8 1/2" x 5 1/2 " x 4 1/2". With this DIY kit there is no worries about cutting paper. The chipboard used in this kit is 100 point (0.1 in) thick, extra heavy, so this box will be very sturdy and well finished! Metal magnet snap to close the box is included (color may vary). Fabric, and other contents showed in pictures are not included. Decorative knob showed in the pictures is NOT included and they are optional, the box can be easily opened without it.

The instruction is a very clear PDF tutorial with 155 pictures showing in details step by step to guide you through the whole process (it is not video, it's written instructions), no steps missing, no guessing! Inside the kit you will find the password and easy directions to download the instruction to your computer.
For making the box you will need this kit, two coordinating cotton fabrics (1/2 yard each), glue, rotary cutter, cutting board, a small paint roller with tray, paint brush, masking tape, scissors, kraft knife, plastic spatula, carving knife and small hammer. Cartonnage tools (spatula, acrylic spacers and corner tool) are required to have better finishing of your project, and you can find them in the tools section of the shop.
