This is the a variation of the Treasure Chest of Claudia's book but now including a "hidden compartment".
Instructions are available for members of the Cartonnage Club OR you can purchase the online course separately at https://www.colorwayarts.com/online
This DIY cartonnage Kit comes with all cardboard you need to make your own fabric treasure chest with dividers and tray, as shown in the pictures. The pieces of paper (chipboard and poster board) are precut in the right sizes you need for this project. The finished box will be 8 1/4" x 6 1/2" x 4". With this DIY kit there is no worries about cutting paper. The chipboard used in this kit is 100 point (0.1 in) thick, extra heavy, so this box will be very sturdy and well finished! Metal clasp included. Fabric and other contents showed in pictures are not included. Hardware (metal clasp with brads, small metal knob and disc magnets) are included.
For making the box you will need this kit, two coordinating fabrics (3/4 - 1 yard each), white PVA glue (Glue All - Elmer's), rotary cutter, cutting board, a small paint roller with tray, paint brush, masking tape, scissors, paper awl.
Cartonnage tools (spatula, acrylic spacers and corner tool) will facilitate the process and give a better finishing for your project. Find them in the tools section of the shop.
The kits from Colorway arts are amazing and I cannot wait to finish mine
A challenging project but well worth the effort. Love the results, however, it does require more covering material than I expected so I had to improvise. In the end, I was very happy with it.
Perfection! I bought this a year or so ago & am ready to make another one! I love all the kits I’ve purchased… and I enjoy cutting them from scratch also! Thank you!!
Excellent products & consistently provides stellar service!
At first, I was intimidated, looking at all the pieces, but Claudia's on-line class is so worth it! (And the excellent "guide" has excellent pictures.)
